SEASON three of Desperate Housewives is back on the box tonight.

While many have lost interest in the show, the new series is said to be a return to the heyday of the first series.

Andrea Bowen chatted to The Word during her visit to Australia for the Melbourne Cup last year.

Bowen was remarkably frank about the dip in ratings taken by Desperate Housewives in its second season.

She admitted the show had lost its way but said series three was more "cohesive".

Bowen's character also has a new love interest, the hunky bad-boy nephew of bimbo blonde Edie Britt. Desperate Housewives will be on Prime tonight at 8.30pm.
