RESIDENTS of Wangi Wangi had been hoping that buxom bombshell Eva Longoria, from TV's Desperate Housewives, was about to move into the neighbourhood.

In an announcement in the NSW Government Gazette last week, Lake Macquarie City Council revealed plans to dedicate an unnamed lane on the Wangi waterfront as Wysteria Lane.

The council owns the lane, which runs off Watkins Road.

It was once intended as a residential block, but the council will dedicate the space as a formal lane and retain what has become a popular access to the waterfront reserve.

The original Wisteria Lane, made famous by the hit US television series, is renowned for its mystery, its philanderers and bitchy housewives, its dirty laundry and even its bizarre murders.

The council exhibited its plan last week, giving residents the opportunity to object to the proposed name. No objections have been received.
